Blenheim International Horse Trials - Day 1 Horse Inspection
Wednesday, September 8 2010
We have arrived to the Blenheim Horse Trials and today, there was only the shopping village set-up and the horse inspection at 4:00. About 100 horses are entered in the CCI Three Star and approximately the same number in the 8-9 year old class.
There are five American riders competing in the 3 star: Will Coleman with Nevada Bay, Sharon White with Rafferty's Rules (aka Reggie), Madeline Blackman with Gordonstown, Aimee Chambers with After Eight and Julian Stiller with two horses, Chapel Amble and Salsa.
All US horses passed the jog. Sharon will have a pretty good entourage/support group at Blenheim. Apparently, they have a big “Go Sharon!” sign and some orange wigs but we haven't seen any of that yet. Go Team Orange!
During the jog, the announcer kept saying "from the strong contingent from the USA" every time an American rider came up. He didn’t say anything special for any other country. I walked the course with Sharon and Will. Sharon described it as a big 3* and a good preparation for Rolex.
Check out our Photo Gallery and a few videos from Day 1. More will follow as we get a chance to upload them...
