Blenheim Horse Trials - Cross-country Videos

Here are some videos from yesterday's cross-country at Blenheim. US riders Sharon White and Will Coleman unfortunately had a run-out each but rode very well the rest of the course. Sharon's horse Reggie (Rafferty's Rules) lost both front shoes along the course. Reggie had both feet in orange tape while waiting for the farrier, which created a sensation in the barns with other riders taking pictures and Lucinda Fredericks wondering where she could get some pink tape...LOL!

Blenheim Horse Trials - William Fox-Pitt leads after Cross-country
Saturday September 11, 2010
Yesterday, we were lucky to meet William Fox-Pitt for the first time. He was quite a busy schedule at Blenheim, riding 2 horses in the CCI 3* - Oslo and Parklane Hawk, another one in the CIC*** 8-9 Yr-Old class (Lionheart) and he is also part of the WEG British Team doing public training sessions on Rolex winner Cool Mountain this weekend. Yesterday, he placed 2nd in dressage and today had a perfect double clear to end up in the lead after the cross-country.

Blenheim Horse Trials - Course Walk with Will Coleman and Sharon White
Thursday, September 9 2010
We had the chance, yesterday afternoon, to walk the course with US riders Will Coleman and Sharon White, who rides in ECOGOLD saddle pads. Here are some highlights - the video is a bit MTV-style, as it is a bit hard to walk and film at the same time, but we hope you will enjoy it.

Blenheim International Horse Trials - Day 1 Horse Inspection
Wednesday, September 8 2010
We have arrived to the Blenheim Horse Trials and today, there was only the shopping village set-up and the horse inspection at 4:00. About 100 horses are entered in the CCI Three Star and approximately the same number in the 8-9 year old class.
There are five American riders competing in the 3 star: Will Coleman with Nevada Bay, Sharon White with Rafferty's Rules (aka Reggie), Madeline Blackman with Gordonstown, Aimee Chambers with After Eight and Julian Stiller with two horses, Chapel Amble and Salsa.
All US horses passed the jog. Sharon will have a pretty good entourage/support group at Blenheim. Apparently, they have a big “Go Sharon!” sign and some orange wigs but we haven't seen any of that yet. Go Team Orange!
During the jog, the announcer kept saying "from the strong contingent from the USA" every time an American rider came up. He didn’t say anything special for any other country. I walked the course with Sharon and Will. Sharon described it as a big 3* and a good preparation for Rolex.
Check out our Photo Gallery and a few videos from Day 1. More will follow as we get a chance to upload them...
