Charlie Jayne from Elgin, IL is a rider to watch. At only 23 years-old, he has been earning his place among the top riders in the US since becoming the youngest in history to compete in a AGA Grand Prix at age 13, placing 7th. In 2008, he was the 2nd alternate to the United States Show Jumping Team for the Beijing Olympic Games with Urbanus, his 12-yr old Belgian Warmblood.

In 2009, Charlie had success with all of this horses, most notably he guided Urbanus to fourth-place finishes in the FEI World Cup Grand Prix CSI4* in Wellington, FL, as well as at the Budweiser American Invitational held in Tampa, FL. With Thomas Edison, he won the $25,000 Charlotte Welcome Grand Prix in Charlotte, NC, in April.

Charlie and Urbanus were part of the US effort on Tour Three of Meydan's Nations Cup. While in Europe, Charlie and Urbanus were second in the $30,753 Grand Prix of Dublin. He finished of the 2009 season on a high note winning the $25,000 Spy Coast/ Sweet Oak Farm Grand Prix in Wellington on Sampras.
